Summary
Shares of Chinese AI firm ZAI Co Ltd dropped sharply on Monday following reports that its developer tool uploaded user data to remote servers without permission, raising concerns about data privacy and security.

The Allegations and Market Reaction
The South China Morning Post, citing developers, reported that ZAI's ZCode assistant tool was transferring user workspace data to remote servers without approval. In response to the allegations, ZAI issued an apology and released a patch to address the issue. ZAI's stock dropped to HK$733.50 in Hong Kong trading, underperforming the broader market as the Hang Seng index gained 0.7%. The negative sentiment also appeared to affect rival AI firm MiniMax Group Inc (HK:0100), whose shares also declined.
