Virbac Stock Surges on Q2 Revenue Beat and Upgraded Guidance

Summary
Shares in the veterinary pharmaceutical firm jumped after it reported second-quarter sales that surpassed analyst expectations and raised its full-year organic growth forecast.
Shares of Virbac (VIRB) surged more than 6% on Tuesday after the veterinary pharmaceutical group reported second-quarter revenue that exceeded market expectations and raised its full-year financial outlook.
Strong Results Boost Forecast
Virbac announced late Monday that its second-quarter sales reached €384 million, narrowly beating the LSEG consensus estimate of €381 million. This contributed to a first-half consolidated revenue of €768 million, marking an organic growth of 7.4% at constant exchange rates, according to the company's update.
The growth was driven primarily by a 5.4% increase from volume and product mix, supplemented by a 2% contribution from pricing adjustments. Buoyed by the strong performance, Virbac's management upgraded its full-year guidance, now targeting the upper end of its previously announced organic growth range of 5.5% to 7.5%.
Furthermore, the company confirmed it expects an adjusted recurring operating margin of approximately 17% for the full year. This figure is notably higher than the 16.5% that analysts had previously modeled, providing an additional positive catalyst for investors.
AdMarket Reaction and Regional Performance
The market responded decisively to the news, with Virbac's stock climbing 6.3% to trade at €346 during the session. The move was driven by company-specific factors, as the broader CAC 40 index in Paris opened only marginally higher.
The company's performance was led by strong results in Europe, which saw growth of around 11.6% in the second quarter, fueled by demand for companion animal products and a recovery in the livestock segment. The IMEA (India, Middle East, and Africa) and Latin America regions also posted double-digit expansion. A minor sales dip in North America, attributed to temporary subcontractor supply issues, has already been resolved, the company stated.
