Streamex Brings Yield-Bearing Tokenized Gold to Brokerage Accounts via Siebert Deal

Summary
Streamex Corp. (NASDAQ: STEX) has partnered with broker-dealer Siebert Financial to make its yield-bearing, tokenized gold security, $GLDY, available through traditional brokerage accounts for accredited investors.
Streamex Corp. (NASDAQ: STEX) has made its tokenized, yield-bearing gold security available through traditional brokerage accounts, a move designed to bridge the gap between digital assets and mainstream finance. The company announced on June 29 that its $GLDY security can now be purchased by eligible clients through the broker-dealer Siebert Financial.
Bridging TradFi and Digital Assets
The collaboration integrates three firms to facilitate the offering. Streamex issues the gold-backed security, Siebert Financial (NASDAQ: SIEB) handles distribution to its clients, and the regulated digital-securities platform tZERO provides custody for the asset. This structure allows Siebert's brokers to offer the tokenized gold product to accredited investors without requiring them to set up crypto wallets or have specialized blockchain knowledge.
According to the announcement, the initiative aims to simplify access to the global gold market by combining the benefits of direct ownership with modern financial features. This includes the potential for yield and 24/7 trading, which are not typically associated with traditional gold investments like physical bullion or exchange-traded funds (ETFs).
Product Details and Market Context
The $GLDY security is backed by physical gold and is designed to pay a variable yield of up to approximately 3.5% annually. The yield is generated by lending the underlying gold to commercial users like jewelers and refiners and is paid out monthly to holders in the form of additional gold, compounding their holdings over time.
Ad"Putting $GLDY into a brokerage account is a major step... because it meets traditional investors exactly where they already are," said Henry McPhie, Co-Founder and CEO of Streamex. The move comes as tokenization of real-world assets (RWAs) gains traction, with investors seeking hard-asset hedges that can also generate returns.
Phased Rollout and Future Plans
This development is the latest in a series of steps by Streamex to broaden access to its digital gold product. After launching in February, $GLDY began secondary trading on the Solana-based decentralized exchange Orca in May. The addition of a traditional brokerage channel targets wealth-management and institutional clients.
While the current offering is restricted to verified accredited investors under Rule 506(c) of Regulation D, Streamex stated it plans to launch a retail-focused version of its digital gold product in the future. The company said this future offering would be accessible to a wider audience and is also expected to pay a similar yield.
