Background

Shares of Sigma Lithium Corporation (NASDAQ:SGML) advanced in after-hours trading Thursday after the company announced its second-quarter 2026 production figures, which came in ahead of its own guidance.

The company's stock climbed 3.3% in post-market activity following the update. The positive investor reaction was driven by a production beat that signals growing operational efficiency.

Production Beat and Operational Upgrades

Sigma Lithium reported that it produced 35,000 tonnes of lithium oxide concentrate in the second quarter, exceeding its prior guidance of 33,000 tonnes by 6%. The company attributed the strong performance to a comprehensive upgrade of its mining operations.

According to the announcement, its Cleantech Industrial Plant achieved a 70% recovery rate of lithium from spodumene ore and delivered an approximate 20% yield. The company also confirmed it has reached its full operating run-rate with an expanded mining fleet and an optimized mine plan, keeping it on track to deliver an annualized production of 240,000 tonnes for its Phase 1 operations.

  • Cash Flow: At a realized lithium price of $1,500 per tonne, the company forecasts cash flow of $130 million from Phase 1, rising to $327 million with Phase 2 and $493 million with all three phases.

These cost estimates, as noted by the company, exclude environmental, social, and financial expenses. Investors will be looking for more detailed results when Sigma Lithium releases its full second quarter 2026 financial and operating report, which is scheduled for August 14, 2026.
