Meta's 'Muse' AI Agent Wins Wall Street Endorsements as Next Major Growth Driver

Summary
Following Meta's Connect event, Wall Street analysts are increasingly bullish on the company's new AI agent, Muse, viewing it as a potential multi-billion dollar revenue stream and a more significant catalyst than its metaverse efforts.
Wall Street analysts are signaling renewed confidence in Meta Platforms (META) following its recent Connect event, with many identifying the company's new AI agent, Muse, as a primary catalyst for future growth. The focus on artificial intelligence is being viewed by investment banks as a significant strategic pivot that could generate substantial new revenue streams.
Wall Street's Bullish Reception
Several investment banks reiterated positive ratings on Meta's stock, with some raising their price targets in response to the company's AI-centric presentation. Raymond James maintained its Strong Buy rating and increased its price target to $860, while Evercore ISI reiterated its Outperform rating and an $860 price target, calling Meta its "top long idea."
Other firms expressed similar optimism. Citi maintained its Buy rating with an $800 target, stating it was more positive on the shares post-event, while Mizuho held its Outperform rating with a $750 price target.
'Muse' Seen as Key Revenue Driver
The centerpiece of the enthusiasm is Muse, Meta's new AI agent. According to a note from Raymond James, the product is already seeing significant traction with more than 300,000 downloads per day. The firm's base case model projects Muse could eventually generate over $50 billion in annual revenue against approximately $12 billion in costs.
AdThis shift in focus was lauded by analysts. Evercore ISI noted that a "Muse over Metaverse" strategy is a positive for investors, suggesting it could help reframe Meta from a perceived "AI Loser" to an "AI Winner." JPMorgan suggested Muse has the potential to become the most widely used consumer AI application since the launch of ChatGPT.
Future Products and Cautions
Analysts are also watching Meta's upcoming hardware releases. Mizuho highlighted the "Muse Charm," a keychain-like device expected before the holiday season, as a potential accelerant for user adoption. However, the firm expressed caution regarding Meta's new $1,299 virtual reality glasses, citing the high price point as a potential barrier to mass-market adoption.
Despite the largely positive reviews, some analysts pointed out a lack of concrete data from the company itself. Evercore ISI noted that Meta's keynote did not provide specific updates on Muse adoption rates or the progress of its Meta Business Agents.
