Results Exceed Expectations

Elementis announced first-half revenue of $318.2 million, ahead of the market consensus of $314.4 million, according to a report from Investing.com. On an organic constant currency basis, revenue grew 4.7% compared to the prior-year period, marking an acceleration from the 2% growth seen in the first quarter.

The company's profitability also beat forecasts. Adjusted EBIT (Earnings Before Interest and Taxes) came in at $73.2 million, exceeding the consensus estimate of $70.6 million. Diluted adjusted earnings per share reached 8.5 cents, compared to analyst expectations of around 7.8 cents.

Divisional Performance

The Coatings division was a key driver of the positive results, posting revenue of $209.0 million, an organic increase of 5.6%. The segment's adjusted EBITA margin expanded significantly by 250 basis points to 20.7%.

The Personal Care division also contributed with revenue of $109.2 million, representing 2.9% organic growth. Its adjusted EBITA margin saw a modest increase of 30 basis points to 38.1%.

Outlook and Financial Position

Elementis confirmed it expects full-year 2026 adjusted EBITA to be in line with market expectations of $135.2 million, supported by a strong order book for the third quarter. The company also reported a solid balance sheet, with net debt (excluding pensions and leases) at $163.8 million, resulting in a net debt to EBITDA ratio of 1.1 times.

Despite the strong results, management noted it remains watchful of macroeconomic headwinds. The company is monitoring potential impacts from the Middle East crisis on global demand, input costs, and supply chain stability.
