In the foreign exchange market, the Colombian peso strengthened against the U.S. dollar. The USD/COP pair fell 1.28% to trade at 3,253.61, indicating a stronger local currency.
This appreciation occurred even as prices for key agricultural commodities softened. U.S. coffee C futures for September delivery were down 2.92%, while U.S. cocoa futures for the same month fell 7.47%. Meanwhile, the U.S. Dollar Index Futures, which measures the greenback against a basket of major currencies, edged up slightly by 0.08%.
